Menu languages on Sony cameras
A Sony α7 IV, ZV-E10 or other Sony bought in Japan or as a grey import often has just English and Japanese under Setup → Language. The same model sold in Europe or the US has many more. It’s a firmware setting, not a fault — and on supported models we can add the missing languages over USB.
Sony models we support
α6100, α6400, α6600, α7 III, α7 IV, α7C, α7C II, α7R III, α7R IV, α7R V, α9 II, NEX-F3, RX1R III, ZV-1, ZV-E1 and ZV-E10. Sony cameras have the longest language lists of all the models we support — up to 32, including Hebrew, Persian and Brazilian Portuguese. Each model page shows the exact list. Yours isn’t there? Use “Is my camera supported?” — we may support it already.
What to send for the free check
The exact model name as printed on the camera (for example ILCE-7M4 for the α7 IV), the firmware version (Menu → Setup → Version), where you bought it, and whether it’s a camera from Japan or a grey import. We reply within 24 hours.
How the setup works
Once we’ve confirmed your camera, you connect it by USB to a Windows 10/11 PC or a Mac with macOS 12 or later and follow our instructions. It usually takes under 15 minutes. If you get stuck, we can help remotely for free. On supported models we can unlock in the same session. You buy credits first, then run the Windows EXE.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on the Sony α7 IV?+
The α7 IV is on our supported list. Send us your firmware version and where you bought it, and we’ll confirm before you go ahead.
My Sony isn’t on the list — does that mean no?+
Not necessarily. We check unlisted models one by one. Use “Is my camera supported?” or the contact form with the exact model name and firmware version.
Can I get Hebrew on a Sony from Japan?+
Yes — every Sony model on our list can show Hebrew once the missing languages are added.

Canon From Japan Only in English and Japanese? The Fix
Bought a Canon in Japan or from a grey importer, and Menu → Setup → Language shows only English and Japanese? Nothing is broken. The camera simply has firmware for the Japanese market. The same model sold in Europe or the US has many more languages — and on supported models we can add them over USB.
→Firmware Checklist Before Adding Menu Languages
Whether we can add languages depends on the exact model and firmware version — “Canon G7 X” isn’t quite enough. Gather these few details before you write to us and we can confirm much faster.
→USB Setup for Adding Menu Languages — Windows & Mac
The whole setup runs from your own computer over USB. You need a cable that carries data, a Windows 10/11 PC, and a minute to close the apps that like to grab the camera.
