Firmware checklist before you start
Whether we can add languages depends on the exact model and firmware version — “Canon G7 X” isn’t quite enough. Gather these few details before you write to us and we can confirm much faster.
What to collect
The exact model (for example PowerShot G7 X Mark III or ILCE-7M4), the firmware version from the Setup menu, where you bought the camera (Japan, grey import, a local shop), and your computer’s operating system (Windows 10/11 or the macOS version). A photo of the Language screen and the firmware screen speeds things up.
Where to find the firmware version
On most Canon cameras: Menu → Setup (wrench icon) → Firmware version. On newer EOS mirrorless cameras it may be on the second or third Setup page. On Sony: Menu → Setup → Version. Write down the full number — 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 can make a difference.
Why the firmware matters more than the model name
Canon and Sony update firmware to improve autofocus, video and stability, and the language setup can differ between versions. Two M50 Mark II cameras on different firmware may need different steps. That’s why we check your exact version — please don’t pay before we’ve confirmed it.
