Matching the international language menu depends on exact model and firmware — not just “Canon G7 X.” This checklist shows what to gather before you contact us so we can approve compatibility quickly.
What to collect
Camera model (e.g. PowerShot G7 X Mark III), firmware version from the Setup menu, purchase region (Japan, EU, US, grey-market), serial number prefix if visible, and computer OS (Windows 10/11 or macOS version). Photos of the Language screen and firmware screen speed things up.
Where to find firmware version
On most EOS and PowerShot models: Menu → Setup (wrench) → Firmware version or Version info. On EOS R and newer mirrorless cameras, it may be on Setup page 2 or 3. Write down the full string — “1.2.3” versus “1.2.4” can matter for compatibility.
Why firmware matters more than model name
Canon updates firmware for autofocus, video, and security. Language lists can differ between revisions. Two M50 Mark II cameras with different firmware may need different setup steps. We maintain model-specific compatibility — do not pay before we confirm your revision.
