USB setup for menu languages
The setup runs from your computer over USB. You need a data-capable cable, a supported operating system, and the correct connection mode before MenuLang Unlock can align your language menu with international models.
Cable and connection basics
Use a USB cable that supports data transfer — not charge-only. Connect directly to the computer when possible; avoid unpowered hubs during the session. On PowerShot G7 X Mark III and similar compacts, use the USB mode that exposes PTP/MTP or the mode our instructions specify. EOS bodies may need EOS Utility compatibility mode turned off if it grabs the connection.
Windows 10 and 11
Install Canon’s USB driver if Windows prompts you. Allow MenuLang Unlock when security software asks. Close EOS Webcam Utility, Lightroom tethering, and any other app that locks the camera. Keep the battery above 50% or use an AC adapter where supported.
macOS 12 and later
Grant USB permissions if macOS asks. Quit Image Capture and dismiss Photos auto-import dialogs that open on connect. On Apple Silicon Macs, use native ARM builds where our instructions say so. Same battery guidance as Windows — stable power reduces the chance of interruption.
After you connect: the setup session
Once the camera is connected and recognised, follow the step list we send after compatibility approval. Sessions usually finish in under 15 minutes. Then open Menu → Setup → Language and confirm Hebrew, English, or your target language appears. If the list is still short, contact support before trying again.
Häufig gestellte Fragen
Does USB-C work on newer Canon bodies?+
Yes, on models with USB-C data ports — use a data-rated cable. Confirm the port type for your exact model on its support page or with us.
Can I use a virtual machine?+
We recommend a native Windows or Mac install. VMs often cause USB passthrough problems — avoid them unless we explicitly approve your setup.
Camera not detected — what now?+
Try another cable and port, reboot the camera, disable EOS Utility auto-start, and contact us with your model and OS version.

Our service changes which menu languages appear — not your sensor, lens mount, or card slots. Still, any computer-assisted setup carries some risk. Here is what changes, what stays the same, and how we reduce problems.
