Windows: allow the tool past security software; quit EOS tethering apps.
macOS 12 and later
Mac: dismiss Image Capture auto-import; grant USB permissions on request.
After USB connect: unlock session

Does USB-C work on newer Canon bodies?+

Can I use a virtual machine?+
We recommend native Windows or Mac installs. VMs add USB passthrough issues — avoid unless we explicitly approve your setup.
Camera not detected — what now?+
Try another cable and port, reboot camera, disable EOS Utility auto-start, and contact us with model and OS version.
