Region-limited laiteohjelmisto tells your Canon which menu languages, video frame rates, and sometimes wireless features to show. For Japan-import and grey-market buyers, language limits are usually the first thing you notice.
What “region-limited” means
Canon assigns different laiteohjelmisto builds to different sales territories. Japan-market laiteohjelmisto may show Japanese and English only; a European build adds French, German, Spanish, and more. The difference is in software — there is no physical switch.
